Exercise: design a 1200ft2 habitat on one floor with a minimum
of 25% of exterior space and interior heights between 8,2 and 12ft.
A group of young adults or students was chosen as potential clients to explore pressures between multiple non-related individuals in terms of privacy, varying routines, and storage. Inspired by Hassan Fathy’s writings, sectional hierarchies, light, and protected green space were prioritized. Exterior space was separated into social and meditative courtyards, with surrounding green paths meant to allow light and cross ventilation if amalgamated.
